Your account is where you manage everything about you: your profile, your settings, your learning, and, if you teach, your practitioner tools. You reach it from the profile icon in the top-right of the site.
Edit Profile vs Settings
There are two different places, and it helps to know which is which:
- Edit Profile is your public identity: photo, About, experience, education, and your AI skills. This is what other people can see.
- Settings is private and account-level: your name, your profile web address (handle), your profile visibility, your time zone, notification preferences, email and password, and your payment details.
Changing your name and handle
Your first name, last name, public display name, and your profile web address (handle) are all in Settings, under identity. Your name is part of your verified identity, especially if you are a practitioner, so it changes here deliberately rather than in the profile editor.
Display and theme
Maram has a light and a dark theme. Set your preference from the Display option in the profile menu in the navigation bar: System, Light, or Dark. System follows your device.
Notifications
Choose which emails you receive under Settings. Some emails are essential and always send (receipts, refunds, security, account and payout updates); the rest you can turn on or off. See Notifications and emails.
Payments and credit
Your saved payment details, any welcome credit, and (for practitioners) your payout connection live in Settings too.
Signing out and security
For security, only one session is active at a time. Signing in elsewhere signs out your other session. You can sign out any time from the profile menu.
